Sustainability

Our goal is to keep our impact on the environment as low as possible while maximizing the lifespan of our products.

We see this goal as an obligation.

Sustainability at SATTLER PRO-TEX

For us, sustainability means constantly defining new paths, developing solutions and making decisions with the aim of promoting positive impacts on society and the environment and avoiding negative ones.

To be successful, it is important to think as a collective, to promote awareness and not to put any issue at the back of the queue. Protecting the climate, the health and safety of our employees, and the issue of diversity are just as crucial as good corporate management or the sustainable direction of our supply chains.

We at SATTLER are aware of this task and are determined to further expand our sustainability program and drive it forward in a goal-oriented manner.

COMPLAN GlobeGuard - Sustainability meets proven quality

This pioneering product line is based on the tried and tested COMPLAN membrane, which embodies the highest quality for the past 50 years. The GlobeGuard series, however, stands out for its sustainable features that offer a more environmentally friendly alternative to the world of quality membranes.

  • Proven quality: Based on the established COMPLAN product line with 50 years of experience.
  • Technical features: Shares the same technical features as all COMPLAN products.
  • Sustainability:  Over 50%* less CO2 equivalent during production compared to our conventional membranes. Fabric is made from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (R-PET) and from secondary raw materials. Only REACH-compliant raw materials are used without SVHC.
  • Environmental-friendly production: Manufactured using 100% renewable electricity.
  • Flawless flatness: COMPLAN quality with perfect flat surface for optimal workability.
  • Norm compliance: Meets the swap body standard DIN EN12641-2 (933) to comply with the cargo securing requirements according to XL code.
* The data is based on a life cycle assessment (LCA) in accordance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 for Art. 733 and Art. 933. The LCA shows the environmental impacts of a product, such as emissions or resource consumption, over its entire life cycle.

Sustainable practices can be learned

At SATTLER, we focus on sustainability and environmental awareness.

That is why we conduct ongoing employee training on the topic of sustainability in our "SATTLER Academy" e-learning platform. The goal of these trainings is to raise our employees' awareness of the importance of sustainable practices in our company.

From Tank to Socket

In recent years, we have started an extensive process to convert our vehicle fleet to electric vehicles.

This is another important step towards sustainability. Compared to combustion engines, electric vehicles emit significantly less CO2, thus contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

More than 1 million kWh from green energy

Just over 1 million kWh of green power is generated annually by our PV system! A total of 2700 PV modules are installed on approximately 9,250 m2 of roof surface at the Gössendorf and Rudersdorf sites. Unlike conventional power generation, no CO₂ is released when power is being generated by PV systems.

Innovative and sustainable products with responsibility

SATTLER PRO-TEX membranes meet all regulations regarding both safety standards and environmental protection in all areas of application and beyond. As a responsible manufacturer, it is our mission to produce products according to the highest health and environmental standards and to always offer the optimal safety for users.

Innovative products:

  • Low-E coating for reduced radiation transmission
  • foamed membranes for improved heat insulation
  • optimized biogas membranes
  • and more

Recycling und Reuse

Recycling and reusing our items are important aspects for us. We implement a range of measures to do this. By doing so, we will reduce our ecological footprint and contribute to a sustainable future.

A list of companies that recycle PVC membranes can be found at the bottom of this page.

Life cycle assessment

An ecological balance, also known as a life cycle assessment (LCA), is a method of analyzing and evaluating the ecological impact of products and services. It is an important way to understand and evaluate the environmental effects of these products and services, and to ensure that they are designed as environmentally friendly as possible. By carrying out a life cycle analysis (LCA), we have analyzed the potential environmental impact of our products over their entire life cycle. This enables us to identify and optimize potential ecological risks from the production of raw materials to the use of our products. As a result, we can minimize the environmental impact of our products and ensure that they are produced in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

Environmental Management System

For many years, we have been continuously developing our manufacturing processes to better protect the environment. We demonstrate our responsibility towards the environment by implementing an environmental management system according to ISO 14001.
